Product distribution

We are distributors for the best brands in the industry, delivering the most cutting-edge technology available. We supply a wide range of products, from cameras to video software, access control, speakers and lighting from brands such as Milestone, Avigilon, ACTi and Paxton. We also supply a range of wireless solutions and server and storage products.

Network design and supply

GVD has designed and commissioned networks for both the IT and security sectors. We can design a new network using our manufacturer partners, or – as is the case with many existing infrastructures – we can make recommendations for integrations into an existing network infrastructure, helping to maximize the current investment.

Server and storage design and supply

We specialise in server and storage solutions, optimised for video surveillance. We build servers to exact operational specifications – from off-the-shelf solutions to bespoke designs, including multi-server and multi-site installations. We understand the importance of the site operating as normal when issues arise. Our solid partnerships with software and hardware manufacturers mean we can help diagnose problems that are either software or hardware related.

Solution and integrations design

GVD will consider the application and design of a suitable solution incorporating network infrastructure, server and storage considerations, camera types and integrations with access control, intruder alarms, video analytics and other third party integrations.

Pre-configuration of hardware and software

We offer a pre-configuration service. This can include assigning IP addresses to cameras and installing Milestone video management software to configuring network infrastructure hardware. Many security integrators opt for this service in order to reduce their onsite time. It means that when you receive your solution from GVD, it is ready to go out of the box – all you have to do is mount, connect and power-up.

Intelligent wireless and Wi-Fi

GVD supplies a range of wireless solutions, including fully managed Wi-Fi solutions suitable for schools, colleges, universities campus, hotels, apartment complexes, office blocks and large event venues. We also supply a range of outdoor solutions, including point-to-point and multi-point solutions that are suitable for multiple applications – including CCTV and voice or data solutions.

Remote and onsite support and commissioning

Remote support and commissioning can be billed on an hourly basis, making it a very cost-effective service. We also offer onsite support, with advanced certified engineers attending site to assist with new installations or maintenance. This service is offered at a discounted rate to customers who have purchased from GVD. We have a dedicated technical support team to back up the solutions we provide, and are always available to answer technical queries or give recommendations – providing you with the right expertise to get the job completed.

Installer and end user training

We train security solution installers in IP networking and video surveillance. Our dedicated training centre (the nIPx, in Dublin 12) offers state of the art facilities with a fully integrated demonstration security system. We offer hands-on practical training to sell, specify, install and maintain IP-based security solutions. We are the only certified Irish trainer for Milestone. To meet the increasing needs of consulting engineers in the area of solution design, we run CPD certified courses to support them with the tender specification process.

The IT requirement for Major events can be unique and complex. From site wide Wi-Fi, to data collection, to digital leader boards, video surveillance and analytics to manage the safety of attendees, to network enabling TV broadcasting, GVD has a wealth of experience in successfully delivering these critical services for events.

The staff we provide at these events are senior staff of GVD. We understand the importance of being able to provide technical support to all event staff and contractors. We have the ability to provide technical support to all areas of the events including internet connectivity, voice and data networks issues, PC’s, laptops, printer installations/support, scanners etc.
